What we believe
Advice without delivery is cheap
Anyone can produce an AI strategy. The value is in knowing what each recommendation costs to implement, which ones will stall against your data, and which will be quietly abandoned once the consultants leave. We stay hands-on precisely so that our advice carries that weight.
Governance is the hard part, not the model
The interesting problems in production AI are rarely about model choice. They are about data quality, evaluating whether output is good enough to publish, keeping proprietary information contained, and being able to tell whether a workflow is still working a month later. That work is unglamorous and it is what separates a demo from a system.
The organization has to change too
A modernized platform run by an organization structured for the old one reverts within a year. Restructuring roles and responsibilities is part of the work, not a follow-on engagement.
Nothing should depend on us being available
Decisions get written down — not what was built, which is readable, but why, and what breaks if it changes. The measure of a good engagement is that your team can carry it on without us.
Who you work with
NBS Technologies is led by Mike McGovern. Engagements are senior and direct — you work with the person doing the thinking and, where it is faster, the person writing the code. There is no account layer between you and the work.
The practice spans AI architecture and agentic automation, data governance, platform modernization and the organizational design that makes those changes hold — most recently for an events, marketing and media organization moving from legacy infrastructure and manual operations to an AI-first footing.
